It is with careful consideration that I announce the consolidation of our Audio Video City store located at 335 E. Betteravia in Santa Maria.
Our last day of operation for this location will be on Saturday, April 30th, however, we will continue serving you and the Central Coast communities through our San Luis Obispo location at 3000 Broad Street in San Luis Obispo. This decision was made primarily due to the economic climate we have all endured over the past few years.
I would like to invite all of you to take advantage of a private liquidation sale that will begin on April 21st. This sale will be open to the general public on April 25th. Items discounted include Sony, Sharp, Samsung and Mitsubishi HD TV’s, audio receivers, blu ray players, CD players, home theater furniture and seating, speakers, cables, and power centers. So Yesterday the Fedex truck pulled up in front of the store and pulled out the brand new Sharp Quad pixel LC40LE810 and LC46LE820 LED TVs. Lets just say all the guys here were more than a little excited. There are two very cool new technologies out this year that everyone was anxious to see, 3D TV and Quad pixel, and we have not been dissappointed. I gave my rave review of the new Samsung 3D sets last week but I have to say for standard 2D viewing these new Sharp 4 color LED’s blow away the competition.
Standard LED/LCD TVs use 3 colors, red green and blue to create around a billion colors, the new Sharp Quad Pixel TVs add yellow to the red green and blue to help the TV create over one trillion colors. The numbers sound impressive but until you see something for yourself you never really know how impressive it will be. So we hooked up the TVs clicked them on and wow were we impressed. We expected yellow and gold colors to look better and they did, but we were pleasantly surprised with how good the blue and green colors looked. When looking at the blue sky on a quad pixel set compared with even last years LED sets there were variations in blue that you could never see before, stunning. We often show a clip of boat drag races that take place on a river lined with trees. The tree line creates some very dark shadow areas and on just about every TV and detail just turns into complete black, but not with the new quad pixel, you get bright green trees with actual detail, it gives you incredible dark detail. With this much dark detail I’m going to have to get out my Blu-Ray copy of the Dark Knight and see what I missed on the lesser TVs.
The cosmetics of this set are also very cool, it very much resembles an ipod on its side. The speaker system also sounds better than most other flat panels on the market.
If you are in the market for a new set and 3D isn’t your thing, I would highly recommend a new Sharp Quattron LED TV.
